Ceremonial Groundbreaking
Supporters, politicians, civic, healthcare and business leaders, as well as future tenants, came out in force today to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking of Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center on Friday, January 14. A crowd of more than 600 gathered in a tent on Cleveland’s historic malls to acknowledge supporters and look forward to the facility’s future.

Romona Robinson, from WKYC-TV 3, welcomed guests and introduced some of the project’s biggest stakeholders and community leaders.
Chris Kennedy, President of MMPI, started the official program by announcing the names of the companies and convention and conference producers who have made commitments to making Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center home.
Mr. Kennedy’s announcement was followed by a host of State, County and City officials, each proud to be part of a Groundbreaking year for Cleveland. Resonating throughout the speakers’ comments was the theme of building on today’s strengths for tomorrow’s future.
