Moment of silence at Medical Mart site: Workers pause to remember victims of 9/11

In the News ::

FROM WTAM-AM 1100: Work on the Medical Mart came to a halt Friday morning.

At 8:45 a.m., Turner Construction halted all operations on the Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center job site to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Spokesman Dave Johnson says they paused and remembered those who gave their lives on that day and those who continue to sacrifice for our freedom.

The Cleveland MMCC 9/11 moment of silence was called by three horn blasts on the work, suspending all work on the job with approximately 200 onsite workers shutting down equipment and suspending all operations for two minutes. The moment of silence ended after 90 seconds and work resumed with the sounding of three additional horn blasts.

Turner Construction provided “Never Forget” hard hat stickers and red, white and blue head bandannas to every worker on the Cleveland MMCC job site.

The work site is also flying an American flag on the work site through Monday, September 12 as a tribute to 9/11 victims.
